Part 3 : BDO Night
The third BDO Night held in Isabel, Leyte on Jan 11 was another blast! For these three municipalities that forged resources in order to augment their economic, cultural and social development through tourism, the cultural celebration last night was another show of enthusiasm, dedication and commitment to pursue their common goals through the leadership of Palompon Mayor Ramon Chu Oñate, Matag-ob Mayor Bernie Tacoy, and Isabel Mayor Edgardo “Dodo” Cordeño. This Tourism Alliance Circuit which was organized barely six months ago is supported not only by their respective local GOs and NGOs, but also the Provincial Government, Department of Tourism, DILG, Usec. Ferdinand C. Jumapao DOT Secretary, Hon. Angelo Alonte Vice-Mayor of Biñan Laguna, Councilor Hon. Editha “Wowie” Manguera of Pasay City, Arvin Tolentino Chairman, KBL-BBM Foundation and Ms. Rose Marie Lamagna CEO of Gabay at Aksyon through their presence and commitment to provide assistance in whichever way possible.
The BDO Night showcased musical, dancing and theatrical talents from the different schools of the three towns. The show was highlighted with the Festival Dance presentations namely HIMORASAK for Matag-ob, LAWIG for Palompon and QUIOT for Isabel. Interpretative performances of the theme Bidlisiw were dished out by dancers from the three towns. Mayor Ramon Chu Oñate, Mayor Bernie G. Tacoy and Mayor Edgardo “Dodo” Cordeño and the guests all gave inspirational messages that challenged the communities to continue their noble aspirations to uplift the overall status of the towns in the district.
