Hawksbill Sea Turtle Releasing – Brgy. Cangcosme (May 22, 2020)
The hawksbill sea turtle (Eretmochelys imbricata) is a Critically Endangered sea turtle belonging to the family Cheloniidae. It is the only extant species in the genus Eretmochelys. Today May 22, 2020 @ 9:00 in the morning, we released (Hawksbill Sea Turtle). Approximately 15 inches length by 10 inches width & weighing 3 kilos est. This was trapped between rocks near the delta @ Brgy. Cangcosme during the break of dawn today, May 22, 2020 @ sea of Brgy. Cangcosme and this has been turned over by Lyndon Franco a native Palomponganon. This was freely surrendered to the (HESC) Human Ecology Security Commission (Bantay Dagat) for proper turn-over & documentation and this was then released in the Palompon local sea bed called “Kenyentos” by the Bantay Dagat personnel & MENRO staff April Joy Manuel .
