GREEN SEA TURTLE RELEASING (May 26, 2020)
The green sea turtle with a scientific name is Chelonia mydas is the second largest after the leatherback. Listed as Endangered (facing a very high risk of extinction in the wild in the near future) by the International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources in 1982. Today May 26, 2020 @ 9:30 in the morning, we released a Green Sea Turtle. Approximately 18 inches length by 12 inches width & weighing 15 kilos est. This was trapped Trapped inside the artificial coral reef (BUNSOD) of Senistang Gamay @ sea of Brgy. Parilla and this has been turned over by Romulo Lisbe a resident of Brgy. Parilla. This was freely surrendered to the (HESC) Human Ecology Security Commission (Bantay Dagat) for proper turn-over & documentation and this was then released in the Palompon local sea bed called “Kenyentos” by the Bantay Dagat personnel & MENRO staff April Joy Manuel .
