Farmer Livestock School on Goat Enterprise Management (FLS-GEM)
Today, 25 goat raisers from different barangays in this municipality received their certificates as graduates from Farmer Livestock School on Goat Enterprise Management (FLS-GEM). Vice-Mayor Myra Georgina L. Arevalo, Francisco T. Sanico, Jr. (MAO) and Mr. Allen Goroy from ATI-RTC8 awarded the certificates to the farmer graduates. Goat raising, a practical business venture requiring low initial capital, is not popular among farmers as a livelihood due to their lack of proper skills and motivation to improve goat management. FLS-GEM is a six month modality that teaches farmers how to integrate the science behind proper goat management and incorporate the concept of entrepreneurship into production. This is a joint project of Agricultural Training Institute (ATI-RTC8) and LGU Palompon thru the Office of the Municipal Agriculture which facilitated by Lionel Tapang and Christian Paul Ecoy, Agricultural Technologists (Livestock in-charge).
